In terms of actual gameplay… nothing! Reign Absolute: Umbrous Edition uses the same core ruleset as the original game. The key differences in this product are in its size and aesthetic design. We have always felt that one of Reign Absolute’s best attributes is in how quick it is to crack open the box and get a game going - we decided to lean into that strength for Reign Absolute: Umbrous Edition. The box and cards are significantly smaller, allowing for gameplay on just about any surface. With this new form factor, this is a game that you can truly carry with you anywhere. Empire in Flames was the first of a short series of ‘micro campaigns’ set in the world of Reign Absolute, expanding the lore and legend of the universe. These campaigns are a part of our internal process building towards the return of Reign Absolute to Kickstarter, and we’re excited to share that the next game in that process is upon us.
Our first physical game release, Warlord: Orc Duel, is launching on Kickstarter next week!
Warlord: Orc Duel is a head-to-head tableau building card game, focused on the Orc Faction from Reign Absolute! Fight to win the loyalty of the three Orc factions, drawing strategically from the Orc Horde while using powerful abilities to gain the edge over your opponent. Be mindful, however - while building the strongest Tableau is the name of the game, the collection of the six putrid Vile Ichors offers an alternate and immediate means to victory for either player.
We’ll be doing some fun things over on the Kickstarter page for this campaign, including a series of greenskin Riddles from the devious goblin Sraskig as well as a bunch of Lore Reveals for the game!
